Is it painful, and can it damage my skin? |

For many people, the word electrolysis conjures up visions of something frightful and painful. They may also believe it's costly, slow, causes scars and is sometimes ineffective. Those are a lot of negatives. How true are they? Pain To be fair, all of the above could occur in a worst-case scenario. But more often, the complete reverse is true. Most electrolysis clients will tell you the stories of pain are exaggerated. Most clients have no problem relaxing during their treatment. Some actually fall asleep. If your’e skeptical, or you're super-sensitive, don't worry, there are techniques to desensitize or completely anesthetize treatment areas. Scarring Scarring was once common when electrologists used a type of electrical current which was not as easily controlled as it is today. Today in the hands of a competent operator, scarring is a non-issue.Temporary marks however can result on certain skin types or areas. These blemishes can be controlled with appropriate applications and are rarely a deterrent.
